Countdown to DARK WATER Release: Introduction to the Characters (6....)
Today, I'd like to introduce you to some of the main characters. There are several people in this book but the story mainly focuses around the following characters:
Freesia Worth: Freesia is a feisty, determined sixteen-year old with the world on her shoulders. Not only did she lose her father in Afghanistan a year ago, but her mother disappeared without a trace. Or, at least, that's how it seems. Freesia knows that her mother would never just leave them because her younger sister, Sage, who has SPD and stopped speaking after her mom disappeared, needs her too much. Freesia is determined to figure out what happened to her mother--even if the answers hurt.
Rick Oakley: He's been Freesia's crush for as long and she can remember, and he's one of the main people helping her find her mom. Somehow, his dad, Frank, is connected to the disappearance.
Mizu: This beautiful, mysterious, Goth-girl is the new girl in town and seems to know an awful lot about what's going on. And she keeps coming up with clues no one else has been able to find for almost a year after Freesia's mom disappeared.
Sage Worth: This is Freesia's little sister. She has Sensory Processing Disorder. She also lost her ability to speak after her mother disappeared. Sage was labled as 'high functioning', so what could have caused her to stop speaking?
Gran and Granddad: Freesia's grandparents. Amazingly supportive people who have taken on the responsibility of parenting Freesia and Sage (as I can so relate to).
Detective Barry Cuaco: The detective is the head of the investigation team searching for Freesia's mom. After almost a year, he hasn't found her or any solid leads as to what happened to her. He will have to file the case 'cold' by the end of the summer if nothing is found. Does he know more than he's saying?
The Watcher: Ohhh...you'd love for me to tell you more about this amazing man. BUT...you'll have to keep tuning in...heheheheh
Those are the main characters but we have a few fantastic secondary characters that tie everything together. Tomorrow, we'll be sharing a few review clips as well as some more info from the book. I hope you'll join us!
