Writing Prompt Saturday ~ Photo Prompt Writing Contest!

Remember my post from Wednesday about entering writing contests as a way to get your work out there a bit further? Well, the writing Gods must have read my post because after it was published, I got a wonderful invitation to enter a contest...a photo prompt contest. My favorite kind.

The Institute For Writers is a fantastic resource I've been a part of for many years now. In fact, it was through them that I found the contest I entered, and won, that kick-started my writing career. I owe them a lot.

This isn't just a place that gives advice and direction to resources. They also have courses for both adult and children writers (I've taken all of the courses and even met one of my mentors through it, who helped inspire me to publish my one and only adult novella!), workshops, critiques, blogs, and a little bookshop.

This place holds a special place in my heart for many reasons and that's why I thought I'd pass on their contest on to all of you. It's a photo prompt and I know you'll have loads of fun with it. The reason I love photo prompts so much is that you start with a visual - as when you write a story or book about a dream - and no two people's stories will be alike as we'd each see something different. Very exciting and inspirational at the same time.

So click here to see the contest and the rules. There is a small fee but it's not too high and it's a paying and publishing contest. You have as good a chance as every other entrant so why not give it a shot?

Happy Writing!
